Oh yeah, that's a great idea using the Avenger for a "preview", I'll have to root around and read some reviews / owner feedback.
We've got a '21 4xe, which replaced an '18 DD/RT, so both with the same uConnect (v4 I believe), and the really bad sat based connectivity through Sirius (that was an...
Yeah, I'm kind of figuring if it has at least 300 miles of range, support 250kW charging, and is under $75K it's almost an insta-pre-order for us (you know, assuming it's the typical $1000 or less and fully refundable).
Things that would keep my - what I would assume would really be a...
Ahh, I wasn't paying attention :D
I'd assume there's a bit of variance within the platform too, so large can accommodate a mid-sized like the Recon (again, assuming a lot about the final product) up to a more full sized in the 200-210" - ish length.
I've been thinking the Recon might be on the Medium platform, since it doesn't appear to be a full sized SUV - but this week, I've seen a few references to it being the Large platform.
If that's the case, and we're looking at a 118kWh max battery size, that wouldn't take a huge efficiency...
The Wrangler "look" is reserved for the Wrangler, and this isn't meant as a replacement. This is meant to drop into the space between something like a GC and the Wrangler - while also being as battery efficient as possible.
The latter is where a BEV Wrangler is going to have the most problems...
We kind of have the same thing, 2-car (really about 1-3/4 ...) one side ends in a solid wall, the other side is open with about an 8" step up to a sort of entrance area (extra freezer, hot water heater, tool chest). So on that side, you can get a little extra room with a "hangover" so to speak...
Yeah, I think it's a touch too soon for a public showing, I bet it shows up as a close-to-production showing for whatever major show event(s) are in the fall.
And green is EVERYWHERE. I noticed in the school pickup line the other day like 3 or 4 green vehicles.
Even Ford getting in on the green, and the whole "adventure" themed vehicle:
I'm thinking low-to-mid-60s given the battery size they'll likely need.
re: the Wrangler 4xe, a PHEV has all the electric components, plus all the ICE components, there's a lot of double dipping in parts and cost - so the 4xe is a tricky price comparison.
Seems like most of the AWD...
That's an interesting point, maybe? Maybe the lower section is braced/hinged up higher too?
There's definitely something up with the rear window though, it's framed, it has that huge, funky hinge-like component to the right.
In the original release video, they made this whole point about the...
This kind of looks like how they solved that (if it does swing open from left-to-right), a hinge / pivot point that's further out than the light:
There's a lot going on in that area, I need to load some pics into a photo editor and see if I can get some better contrast.
Not having to open...
