  1. Official: Jeep Recon will get ICE gas engine model!

agreed gents. I would take a less off-roady badass trim (Overland, Sport, Willys) as long as it has vented seats. I'm tired of burning by legs/butt in Arizona summers. Also, thought I'd mention one of the dealers I've spoken with--where I bought my 4xe in '21--called Saturday to say Recon...
  2. Official: Jeep Recon will get ICE gas engine model!

as someone that read lots of articles and management quotes, about 12-15 months ago we started to see comments that the Recon could potentially have additional powertrains as soon as 2027. Basically, as soon as this leadership took over. and it’s also been reported since last fall that the...
  3. Official: Jeep Recon will get ICE gas engine model!

The R2 is slightly better priced than the Recon. $60k vs $67k. But I'm guessing the Recon will be more available since R2 has about 200k pre-orders. Most of the people that bashed the Recon's pricing in November were comparing the 2028 R2 Standard (didn't know when it would come out) at $45k...
  4. Official: Jeep Recon will get ICE gas engine model!

Also, while relatively close, they are different sizes. Recon is 5" longer than the Cherokee and Wrangler and quite a bit wider (not sure exactly since some measurements include mirrors). The tires on the backs of Recon and Wrangler do throw off measurements a bit. But basically it's the...
  5. Official: Jeep Recon will get ICE gas engine model!

It makes sense for two reasons. One...choice. Two...Europe. They are replacing the Wrangler in Europe with the Recon, and various choices make sense. Like everyone else on here right now, I'm in it for EV. I have to imagine they'll have a bigger engine that the Hurricane. I mean, it's a...
  6. Official: Jeep Recon will get ICE gas engine model!

This has pretty much been known for a while, but it’s great to have it confirmed. The execs have been saying that the versatility of the STLA-large playform allows for relatively easy interchanging of ICE, hybrid, PHEV, and EV. I expect they’ll offer a REEV next year that will be the most...
  7. Recon Dealer Pre-Order List [earlier spot in line?]

That makes tons of sense. I'm the typical mall crawler. I drive around town. I used to drive a Yukon years ago and like ride height, but don't want anything that big. The Wrangler 4xe has been a great vehicle for me, and I'm looking forward to electric. I love the looks of both R2 and...
  8. Recon Dealer Pre-Order List [earlier spot in line?]

Thanks for the information. I should find out my approximate timeline on an R2 in June as well. If that sounds like it’s in the sooner side, then I can wait until next year for a Recon Overland. We’re looking to replace both of our vehicles with EV’s.
  9. Jeep Recon sales to start next Spring says Jeep CEO

I think this is all linked to the Cherokee being in high demand. The dealers near me can’t keep them on the lot, and I’ve seen more on the road in a few months than Wag S’s in 14 months. So Jeep is really cranking out Cherokees to meet demand for a fuel efficient SUV. As they hit a level...
  10. Jeep CEO: We're still all-in on Recon. It's legit and fun; people love it.

Saw this pop up the other day, confirming my suspicions. It's nothing against the Recon, but the limited Toluca capacity and taking advantage of a successful product launch of the Cherokee. https://moparinsiders.com/when-will-the-2026-jeep-recon-arrive-in-showrooms/
  11. Jeep CEO: We're still all-in on Recon. It's legit and fun; people love it.

Yeah, they’re saying the initial vehicle will start at $65k, but they’ve stated that the Overland and possibly other trims will be cheaper. They have a few options that can raise the Recon price by a couple thousand. I think the biggest “oh crap” moments for Jeep engineers we’re hearing...
  12. Jeep CEO: We're still all-in on Recon. It's legit and fun; people love it.

I think there's a common misunderstanding that you're subscribing to. People kept saying that the Recon was starting at $65,000 and the R2 at $45,000. But that's not the case. We don't know what the lowest trim on the Recon will be. The trim somewhat comparable to the initial Recon Moab is...
  13. Jeep CEO: We're still all-in on Recon. It's legit and fun; people love it.

I’m starting to get annoyed. They said early 2026. I know I’ve waited 4 .5 years for it, but I’d just like some info. Tell me June? May? I get it, the Toluca plant has limited capacity and is banging out Cherokees like crazy and they’re selling like hot cakes. But at this point if I get a...
  14. Recon Dealer Pre-Order List [earlier spot in line?]

Just curious if you’ve heard anything more about this. Any idea when orders will open or when the first ones will ship?
  15. Jeep Recon sales to start next Spring says Jeep CEO

I was thinking about this. Everything is vague and saying “spring.” A dealer I don’t necessarily trust said maybe they’ll have more info in Feb. has anyone heard when orders will open from a trusted dealer, or when the first will arrive? I’m more interested in an Overland, but may just say...
  16. 2026 Jeep Recon at LA Auto Show - Live Photos & Videos

so I'm curious, but in the videos and the website, that appears to be sarge green. But the website says the green is '41. Which is being offered on the Recon, because the images seem to be a lot darker than '41?
  17. Orange Jeep Recon from LA & Phoenix Auto Shows

Here’s two front shots of the orange at the Phoenix auto show. Unfortunately, the windows were heavily tinted, and it was locked.
  18. 2026 Jeep Recon at LA Auto Show - Live Photos & Videos

I saw it at the Phoenix auto show today. It was really nice sized. Unfortunately it was locked. The Jeep reps were no help to people, and I wound up answering questions for a lot of curious people that had never heard of it. I have to say, the Cherokee looked a lot nicer in person than I...
  19. 2026 Jeep Recon World Premiere! Starting Price $65,000. 250 miles range, 0-60 3.6s

In 24 hours, they’ve already given it a better launch than they gave the Wagoneer S in the first 6 months.
