Touched base with this dealer again today. They say that there is still "nothing set in stone" from Stellantis, and they "hope to see them by the end of the year". The waiting game continues.....
The R2 looks neat. But I'm really holding out for Recon because:
- Better dealership coverage, support, and financing options
- Removable doors and top like a proper Jeep
- Better off-road capability
- Will likely have more accessories and customization
I contacted a large, high volume Jeep dealership in Kentucky today. The new car ordering manager says production on Recon has been pushed to late summer 2026. He also says Jeep is telling them that only 1,200 Recons will be produced for the U.S. for the first model year.
So, if you want one...
