  1. Official: Jeep Recon will get ICE gas engine model!

Thats fair, I saw their first stated MSRP and stuck with that in my head. Sounds like they'll adjust depending on the market. Jeep historically leaves room for discounts off MSRP, too. My hopes are they see the R2 as a threat and compete aggressively with it. I think Jeep should stand by it...
  2. Official: Jeep Recon will get ICE gas engine model!

It's right on jeep.com, Recon MSRP Starting at $65,000. Price goes up from there. The R2 starts at $45,000.. A fully loaded top spec R2 is $58,000 "Consumer choice" is corporate speak for trying to keep stock prices up. Playing all sides so we can't lose! There's no cross-powertrain platform...
  3. Official: Jeep Recon will get ICE gas engine model!

The Wagoneer S failed for being over priced and mediocre in its segment. The Charger failed because its core customer base is anti-EV, and it's over priced. The Wrangler appeals to everyone. The Recon is aimed squarely at the Wrangler segment and as an EV is a compelling new product for the...
  4. Official: Jeep Recon will get ICE gas engine model!

Vehicles that can have gas or EV drivetrains end up being worse at both. Putting an ICE into the Recon is giving up. They need to focus their efforts on making it a better EV. Jeep doesn't need another gas SUV.
  5. Official: Jeep Recon will get ICE gas engine model!

Praise Stellantis, us consumers will finally have more CHOICE! Above range, tech and capability, I value the ability to choose as my top priority when making a vehicle purchase. Thankfully Jeep realizes this and isn't bothered with the former. But seriously, putting an ICE in a ground up EV...
  6. Jeep CEO: We're still all-in on Recon. It's legit and fun; people love it.

It says on Jeeps webpage for the Recon "Starting at $65,000". Typically thats the entry level price and goes up from there. It's still very vague, and I think it's because of the R2. Us here on the Recon forum can see the merits of the Recon over the R2. I've been excited about the Recon since...
  7. Jeep CEO: We're still all-in on Recon. It's legit and fun; people love it.

Jeep was probably waiting to unveil more Recon info until the R2 reveal. Rivian's put Jeep in a tough spot. What is the Recon going to do better than the R2? And for $20,000 more? My hopes are Jeep drops the starting MSRP to $45k and tries to do some actual volume with the Recon.
  8. Jeep Recon sales to start next Spring says Jeep CEO

I'm still excited, but I'm going to be cross shopping this with the Rivian R2 thats due out the same time as the Recon is now. Amongst everything else, it's going to be a though market to compete in.
