It's right on jeep.com, Recon MSRP Starting at $65,000. Price goes up from there.
The R2 starts at $45,000.. A fully loaded top spec R2 is $58,000

"Consumer choice" is corporate speak for trying to keep stock prices up. Playing all sides so we can't lose!
There's no cross-powertrain platform thats succeeded in being a competitive EV and ICE car.

The Recon wasn't always known it would get different powertrains. This news came out May 22nd 2026. Last week.
as someone that read lots of articles and management quotes, about 12-15 months ago we started to see comments that the Recon could potentially have additional powertrains as soon as 2027. Basically, as soon as this leadership took over.

and it’s also been reported since last fall that the Overland (shown at various autoshows) will have a lower price, better range, etc. the initial version, the Moab, starts at $65k. Sorry, I guess I’ve just read a lot more about the Recon over the last few years, so I’m up on these things

Thats fair, I saw their first stated MSRP and stuck with that in my head. Sounds like they'll adjust depending on the market. Jeep historically leaves room for discounts off MSRP, too.
My hopes are they see the R2 as a threat and compete aggressively with it.

I think Jeep should stand by it being an EV, own that its only going to get 250mile range on a good day. It's more of an enthusiast vehicle. 250 is plenty whether people think so or not.
I don't want to drive for hours on the highway with the doors off and top open anyways.

Yeah, the starting price is $67k including destination for the Moab trim. That'll be the first trim offered. I expect them to do a Sport trim for quite a bit less sometime in calendar year 2027.

The one big advantage Jeep has over Rivian is a dealer network that can provide service and financing for purchases in person in dozens and dozens of dealerships across each state. A lot of people, myself included, are still intimidated by the sales model used by Tesla, Rivian, and eventually Scout.

agreed gents. I would take a less off-roady badass trim (Overland, Sport, Willys) as long as it has vented seats. I'm tired of burning by legs/butt in Arizona summers.

Also, thought I'd mention one of the dealers I've spoken with--where I bought my 4xe in '21--called Saturday to say Recon begins soon, they're expecting full production ramp in late June or early July.

On June 9 I'll learn where I stand with my R2 order. We plan to replace our '23 Lexus GX and '21 Wrangler 4xe with both an R2 and a Recon.
