What vehicle are you coming from? I’m concerned at how loud the Sky top is and I was hoping to order the dual-pane that’s been delayed till 2027. The Wrangler Sky top is pretty damn loud at highway speed

also, I wanna know if the steering wheel is soft like a grand Cherokee or requires constant tweaking like a Wrangler?

From what I understand (no first hand experience - Yet), the Recon in general is much quieter than the Wrangler overall, even with the Sky One Touch. Is it noticeable compared to a non wrangler, sure, but I think coming from a wrangler already with the SOT, you’ll feel a significant improvement.

As far as steering; I’ve also heard it’s much less touchy than the wrangler is and more akin to the Cherokee.

That said, it’s all second hand. I’ll let Dave report back when he drops that fat stack of photos on us!

Thanks this is what I’ve been hoping for, but no reviews have mentioned.
I think the SOT on Wrangler could use some sort of spoiler or air curtain (not sure of term) to deflect some noise over the roof. Plus living in Phoenix, I only have like 20 days/nights a year where I’d consider using SOT. I prefer an insulated roof that blocks the light and limits heat

I am attaching pics now..the sky roof I can hear a little Air noise, but its really not bad at all.the Recon is a Rocket ship! Its quite amazing!

It has been mentioned somewhere in a review, but I couldn’t tell you which one at this point. They all run together by now.

As far as noise… this your first wrangler? Cause uh… it’s not the SOY that makes it noisy. They’re just loud vehicles. You should go drive an older soft top

First Wrangler, had it for 5 years. I find the vehicle pretty quiet overall. Love the PHEV. At highway speeds I can hear the tires and SOT. I never hear the engine from inside. But my wife’s old GMC Terrain seemed louder through the floor and wheel wells. Noise but from different spots.

The Sky roof is Really flat on the top.I think that reduced a lot of noise.I owned a 2010 Liberty that had a sky roof,I hated it was so loud.this is a Big improvement for me!

We’ve had 2 wranglers over the years. Mid 90s model with the soft top and a 2018 JL with a hard top. The noise is mostly road noise and due to thin skinned doors and absolutely no insulation on the top. Firewall still handles engine noise quite well.
Still, recon is supposedly much quieter. And I know one reviewer said of you drive a wrangler, you won’t even notice the noise in the recon.

I hope you get your before the snow drops. The acceleration of Recon is amazing, quick, no lag..the charge port door locks. Something I worried about with my GC 4xe..

That is a matter of timing. We’ve already had sub-30 degree nights come and go. None of the white stuff yet. Usually not till end of Nov, but times be a changin!

We aren’t terribly far off at this point though.
