Latest from my dealer is that the dispatch team launching the Recon is telling him we should see my Moab the first week of next month.

Certainly positive news, but we shall see. Take it for what its it’s worth.

I got a message from a dealer in Ohio that has one coming that September 7th is the ship date. Sounds like a few Recons will be trickling in next month!

All the dealers I've contacted, including the highest volume selling dealer in the nation (Mark Dodge), says that there is zero information on this. So if you do actually get a VIN and build date, please report back to us.

Hello, I have had my 2026 on order thru my Dealer since Dec 12 2025. I got a Vin and mine says its in storage.

It sounds like they are being staged near the dealers for official launch. When that will be no one knows.
My recon also has a VIN assigned. Last I heard it was “shipped to storage” but doesn’t yet say it’s in storage. I have talked to other dealers on New England that have ones with assigned VINs that are also listed as in storage like yours. Sounds like we are getting close. I just wish they were a little more transparent with us about what the delay is about, and when we can expect to see them.

I totally agree, this no communication is Hurting them (Jeep).My update page for my Recon, says Being Built in production (3 of 5 bars) It used to have a ship date of 8-18-26 . About a month ago they changed it to tbd..

I found a dealer in Tennessee with two Recons on order. This one would actually be a little closer to where I live in Kentucky. Not as much of a drive. So I inquired about their Recons and they said both of them are in JS status. They said that means "they are in storage".

I can't imagine that they would want an EV, in particular, to sit in storage for a long time. So I'm remaining hopeful that we'll see movement in September.

So the ones this dealer in TN is getting were ordered in October 2025!! And they are just now getting a ship date!! It's wild.

Anyway, I explained to them that there's too much risk in a $1,000 deposit on a Jeep that nobody has seen in person, none exist to test drive, we don't know whether they will lease them, and if they do we don't know what payments will look like. Just too much risk. I don't want to gamble $1k. The dealer agreed and put my name on a white Recon with the Joshua Tree interior with no deposit required. It's scheduled to ship 9-5-26 and I get to go test drive it first. I don't know if it'll work out, but I'm trying!

@WXman makes sense, and sounds like a good deal. I’m surprised they would earmark one for you like that without a deposit, but that’s awesome. Hope it gets there quick and it’s everything you want it to be!
